Textured Newborn Beanie w/ Satin Trim

Well I just keep whipping these bad boys out, don't I? You're welcome! Actually this pattern just sort of happened. I was playing around with the shell stitch and didn't like how it was looking with the chunky yarn so I decided to go back to Ole Reliable for some texture: Front & Back Post Double Crochet stitches. I also had some purple satin ribbon and decided to fancy it up a bit and I LOVE how it turned out!!

Alright enough chatter, let's get to the pattern!!

Supplies Needed
Yarn: 2 different skeins of worsted weight yarn (4). For my hat I actually used a purple worsted weight and Lion Brand Homespun (I just love this yarn!!) Or you can also use 1 Super Bulky Yarn (6)
Hook: M, 9.00mm
Ribbon: 1" satin

Abbreviations (click the link for a video tutorial):
Ch: Chain
Sl St: Slip Stitch

Pattern:
*Ch 2 counts as a DC*
MC
R1: Ch 2, 7 dc (Total 8 DC)
R2: ch2 turn, 2dc in each sl st to join (Total 16 DC)

  1. I am brand new to crochet, teaching myself, and I am wondering about the use of two yarns. I don't see a color change in the beanie. Were you using both simultaneously as though they were one? I love the hat and the ribbon is amazing.

    1. I'm so sorry it took me forever to reply. Yes, you do use them both simultaneously. You just hold them together as if they were one strand. So you can turn any worsted weight into bulky. Hope that helped.

    is a heavy hat.

  3. This girl’s knit hat has a compact design and it looks very furry whereas while wearing, it never lets the second spare without giving a smooth and soft feel. Not only head, personalized beanies
